South African wines in the spotlight in upcoming virtual tasting - South Africa Wine News, Sept 2007

South African online retail specialist in the UK, SA Wines Online (www.sawinesonline.co.uk), has partnered with Virtual Wine (www.virtualwine.co.uk) to bring an interactive wine tasting event broadcast live from London on Friday, 5 October 2007 at 19h30 (BST), called “VW Academy – South Africa“.
Launched in 2005, a dynamic London online wine media company - Virtual Wine - has been creating online live wine tastings once a month, broadcast from London or the USA.
The wines, normally based around a theme, are ordered in advance and are available directly from Virtual Wine. Those not living in the UK can source the line-up at their own leisure. A list of the wines is always available on the Virtual Wine website, along with the ideal food matches and recipes thereof.
Wines listed for the “VW Academy – South Africa” tasting:
• Pongracz NV
• Durbanville Hills Rhinofields Sauvignon Blanc 2006
• Backsberg Chenin Blanc 2006
• Robertson Phanto Ridge Pinotage 2005
• Porcupine Ridge Syrah 2005
• Warwick Three Cape Ladies 2004
The wines can be purchased in the UK as a wine “Taster Pack” for £58.00 for 6 bottles (including delivery to mainland UK).
